congrats! also, i just had a question...what did you say each time you called? did you think of new things to ask them? or just asking if they have everything? how did you start the dialogue? i just feel like i hit a wall as i really really want to call and talk with them..just dont know what to say so that it doesn't seem as though I'm bugging them, you know?

NewAggieGrad - Good luck! I am a believer in what is "meant" to happen will happen. Please post back on what you decide. :-)

cm21 - I would address them by name like "Hello Mrs. Smith" (to make it more personal) then I pretty much just identified myself, said I was calling to check the status of the position and that I am still interested (and maybe "I would love the opportunity to work with you and your staff" or something similar). I would end with my phone number and then "thank you very much for your time". This was a position I had already interviewed for. One position I had not interviewed for, I said something like "I would love the opportunity to meet with you to discuss the position and answer any questions you may have regarding my background".
I think you will always feel like you are bugging them to an extent. My previous employment seeking ventures ended with a job offer or a thanks but no thanks LETTER. Seems like in this current environment, a lot of places just let you get lost in the shuffle and you may never hear from them again...even after an interview. I finally decided after some of my friends talked to me that it was better to approach them and find out than sit and wait for a phone call that never came. I honestly believe that if I would have just sat back and waited, I never would have gotten the offer. Best of luck to you!
