I am about to start my pre-reqs for an LVN program. I had a friend mention something about the Navy a while back ago, and I took it with a grain of salt. I am 25, and I basically thought I was past "my prime" to even consider such an avenue. The other night out of sheer curiousity (and maybe a little boredom) I glanced at the Navy Nurse Corp page. I was shocked! I had no idea what types of benefits and different options I could take to be a part of the Navy. I have to say, I am quite interested.
My question is, I can easily change my path and start the ADN program at a jr college and then transfer to a BSN at a university. Is this at all an option? I don't really want to wait to get my BSN, as I really need the grants and assistance up front to cover the jr college and the transfer to a university.
(Backstory: I was put on probation at a private university years ago, so I would basically have to start over, and I can't afford to go to a university to start).
Any advice would be appreciated. I understand that this is a HUGE, life-changing commitment and that I have many other obsticles I would have to get through before the Navy would even accept me.
