Hi guys

I'm going on a trip in April and will be in the Washington DC area as well as Norfolk area. It's a much needed vacation and I will be visiting my dad and stepmom (who both happen to be retired navy. woo hoo!!). I will have the opportunity to check out both Bethesda and Portsmouth hospitals. This is not an official VIP tour of the hospital, so I'm asking for some help. I know some of you currently work in these facilities. Would anyone be willing to meet with me and give a quick tour of the facility?? Or does anyone have info about these hospitals? I am most interested in pediatrics (2 years peds nursing experience) but know I may be assigned wherever I'm needed.

I just want to do research before I make the decision about joining the navy. I would like to see what nurses do, and see the facilities before making a decision. Any help would be much appreciated!

Wanttobe..

I'm in the ED at Bethesda, if you let me know when you are coming in, I'd be happy to meet with you and show you around. I'm gonna be on vacation myself between April 11-20 and then going to be seeing the Mrs. off to her deployment around the 27th/ 28th. Other than that, let me know and I'd be happy to work something out. FYI, Bethesda doesn't do inpatient PEDS currently, maybe when we integrate.

That's too funny. My vacation dates are April 10-20, and I'll only be in D.C. the 12-14 (plus or minus one day). Thanks for your willingness to meet with me though. I really appreciate it. And thanks for the heads up about no Peds floor currently. Do you see Peds patients in the ED?

If things change, I'll let you know. Yes, in the ED we see everything. Good luck, let me know if I can do anything else, sorry.
