VA or department of defense civilian??

Hello,
I'm currently a VA employee. I'll be done with my first yr of nursing and I'm wondering if I should try working as a DOD civilian? The VA is not able to repay my loans so I am looking at my options. What are the differences in benefits? I really like the VA because everyone is really laid back. On the telemetry floor our patient/nurse ratio averages 3-1. The yearly 5 wks of vacation, 2 1/2 wks sick pay. I was thinking of the Army because I can go overseas. Is it worth it leaving the VA?

you won't lose any time so why not? Federal job bennies are all about the same. I've got a friend whose DOD bennies are the same as VA; we keep trying to convince each other to come over to the other side...

Hmmm word salad (anyone hungry?) LOL!

Once your loans are paid, move back! Have fun while you can cause once you can't it's all over
