Omg!!! I was the president of my AOII chapter too! Small world!

AMAZING!! Congrats on getting med/surg! Maybe we'll get the same cot date, it will be nice to have a sister throughout training! I asked for the first cot date in JAN, but who knows until we get our the details.

I just heard from my recruiter I am alternate #1! I don't mean to get anyone's hopes up, but he did say that it isn't uncommon for the committee to add more spots than originally announced. I chose OB, and my recruiter told me in not so many words that I am pretty much in, just a matter of waiting to hear the official news. Congrats to all of the selectees, and good luck to alternates and those looking on to next year. We were directed to the AF Nurse Corps for a reason, there are only 300 active duty AF nurses in the world, and we have an opportunity to be a part of that elite group.

Congrats!!! My recruiter said one of her applicants is number 56 on the alternate list...that gives me a little hope that they'll take a few more! (hopefully 5 ;))

I got the news this morning, but work has been franctic today! I was accepted for Med/surg (yay!). Samoansundevil and I go to school together and I know for sure he deserves to get put in, but our recruiter explained what I feared that they do put many who haven't graduated yet on the Alternate lists and with OB being a smaller pool for acceptances, they take graduated and licensed first.

I have no doubt yall will get in and it'll just be a matter of time before you get a call! If all goes well we will be going to COT together Hbaum and I think you'd be an awesome friend in the mix! Please keep us updated!!

Any stats on how many licensed Rn's they took vs still in school? 56 Alternates is a lot if they took 46 already.

Im not sure of numbers..but so far on the fb nurse group, none of the ones still in school actually got selected. But yes, 56+ alternates is a lot, so I'm crossing my fingers that they'll boost their number of 46 up a little bit!

Got the call from my recruiter yesterday. I am on the alternate list *sigh*. I've been trying to contact him and find out what # I am though. I didn't ask too many questions after he called because I was in the middle of doing something.

Congrats! Being on the alternate list is better than getting a 'no' though. Positive thoughts!

Thats what I keep telling myself, it's better than being said no to, which is the only thing I have heard for the past year during my job search.
