Forum for any and all discussions about the upcoming nurse transition program selection board for the USAF in 2012

Does anybody know if there is a possibility the board might try to contact us to confirm things or ask additional questions next Tuesday when they meet? I recently found out I have jury duty that day and if I end up having to stay the entire day, I'm worried I won't have the chance to answer my phone or check email before the board is over for the day....and they probably wouldn't look too kindly on someone who doesn't respond to them....

I've never heard of them contacting someone to ask questions....do you think they do that? Good question for our recruiter....eek

I feel like I've seen some people on allnurses who have been contacted by the board...but I asked our recruiter yesterday and he said he's had it happen with only one person. So it is possible, but not very likely at all. So hopefully it won't happen (to any of us!) and there won't be anything to worry about.

I wonder why they contacted the person!

I haven't heard of anyone being called by the board either..I feel like they have a LOT of applicants to sort through, that it would be very time consuming to contact people.

I've never heard of any commissioning boards contacting applicants directly either. They have some pretty rigorous quality assurance checks and balances in place for all the packages in order to eliminate the need to contact applicants and make the selection process as smooth as possible. The AF are experts at QA!! So unless you have some very unique circumstances or something in your package, I'd go to jury duty and try to relax and be confident that you and your recruiter did everything right. :)

Well, tomorrow is the day they meet...a few more weeks and we should all know!

Time seems to go by real slow when we are anxiously waiting. These are the moments you want time to speed up. But then when you get settled in life or are older, you want time to slow down so you can enjoy every moment. Right now, I wish it would speed up! Lol

Hugs and support to all of us awaiting the results!!!!!!

Hahah amen! I've learned never to wish life away..and to take every moment as it comes...but I'm certainly ready for August/September to be here!

First you'll be waiting for Aug/Sept. then you will be waiting for your December graduation. Good luck to you in finishing up your degree! Keep us posted on that too:)

Seriously...I just wanna hit the fast forward button on the remote like Adam Sandler in the movie Click haha! Lucky for me I'm starting an 8-day work stretch this week and that always makes time zip by :)

Hahah yes! I've been trying to keep very busy as well, it always seems to help! As of right now, I don't have a summer job, so I just fill my time with working out! Training for a sprint triathlon now has the days going by pretty quickly! Ahhh! good luck to everyone!!!
