For those who wanted information about joining the Army Nurse Corp, this is for you.

... I don't know why, but we (the Army) can't fill our class slots. I just don't understand it, I have had nothing but positive experiences during the program and being an Army CRNA. I know the deployment potential (more than likely) is the major issue, but the personal benefits far outweigh the personal costs.

I have applied for the June '06 USAGPAN, and so far been accepted for the AD Board. I hope to hear in November if I passed the LTHEP Board & UTHHSC MSN Board. I received direct commission 1LT USAR Nurse Corps back in 2003.

The UTHHSC board has already met and you can log onto the student UT link to check your current status. I hope we do not have to wait until November for the LTHET board results. See you in June when class starts.

Great info. I was seriously considering joining the Army once I complete my BSN. The only reason I've decided against it is "don't ask, don't tell" policy.
The sad thing is, I could really see myself going career in the military until retirement. But I can't see myself lying for twenty years to all the coworkers who'd ask innocent questions I couldn't answer. I have this awful fear that I'd get a year away from pension and then lose it because someone inadvertently found out. Not to mention that domestic partner benefits are getting easier to find in the private sector, but nonexistent in the military.
