Hi, my name is LT Dan D'Aurora, most call me LT Dan. Anyway, I have been stationed here, Sigonella, for the past 2+ years and I have some bad news for you. About a 1 1/2 years ago they all but eliminated civilian nurses at the hospital, it just isn't big enough. They do have a few positions as a home health nurse, but those are first come, first serve. The situation can always change though. When my wife and I came over here we were looking at the same prospect, her not having a job. So she actually joined the Navy as well, she has a 4 year contract. She has spent 3 of those here and will do 1 back in the states and then get out. It may not be the best, but it has worked for us. Thanks Lt. Dan for the info. You mentioned about Home Health nursing. How do I apply for a position such as this? Is a BSN the requirement?

Sorry it took so long, been on vacation. You would have to call the hospital direct as all thoise positions are done through personal contract. Currently, there are no positions open that I know of, but call them for sure.
