Pros and cons, new RN in the Air Force

I recently just got my RN license. I been working in the med/surg, ortho, and telemetry floor for the past 4 months, so I am fairly new as a nurse with a ASN. I also just turned 25 years old. I would love to get some recommendations or advices on if would be a good idea to join the Air force as a new nurse. Should I stay on med surg on the hospital first and get experience first? Should get the BSN for that? What are the pros and cons?

I am 25 yeard old, single and no kids. I am not sure also if Im too old to join? Can I get some personal opinions pleassee :)

Thank you

You are not too old to join. There are many advantages to joining the military - loan repayment, they will pay if you want more education, great benefits, good career path. The down side is that you have to move regularly, there is possibility of working in a war zone (but that is remote if you are in Air Force or Navy). Go talk to a recruiter!

You need a BSN to be a nurse in the military in any branch. You are not eligible to apply until you have that.

shibaowner, the AF and Navy do augment the Army and Marines, respectively. There are many dangerous areas both go. Even within the AF bubble, I would still consider places like Bagram a war zone; the possibility of deploying there is not remote or unlikely at all (I personally know 2 people from my hospital there right now).
