New grads and deployments

I am a new grad RN and am currently in the process of applying for a guard position as a RN. How often do they deploy new nurses?

I have no problem going overseas, it's just that I am not comfortable in my role as a RN yet to be in a combat situation. I was prior service before nursing school and feel that I would be more comfortable deploying as my former AFSC! lol

Since you are guard it will depend on your unit. Once you have completed OBLC you are eligible to deploy.
