New Grad Direct Accession?

  1. 0 I have read in many places that it is impossible for newly graduated/licensed nurses to commission in the navy nurse corps via direct accession. Is this true? How come the navy doesn't just refuse new grads from applying like the other branches if that's the case? Thank you for any light that may be shed on this topic! Please share personal experience!

I was DA as a new grad and signed on in January of 2012. Although, it becomes more difficult as you are competing with nurses with experience. However, I don't know if the requirements are changing as the needs of the military change.
