New Commissioned Army Nurse

  1. Hi Everyone,

I am a newly commissioned Army nurse in the reserves. I have been reading these threads for a couple of months now and everyone sounds nice and very passionate about military nursing. I am a ADN nurse who will be starting RN to BSN early next year. I have been a nurse for almost 4 years. I have a year and a half neuro ICU experience and have been working labor and delivery, postpartum and nursey for almost a year and a half.

My plan is to finish my BSN then switch to active duty in a 2 to 3 years. Does anyone have any idea of how hard that would be for me? Any answers would be nice.

    Have a good day.

Hello Faygg and Welcome to AllNurses.com!
Also, congratulations on your direct Commission!
So when you ask "does anyone have any idea how hard that would be for me?" what exactly are you asking? About going AC or going for your BSN?
Good Luck to you in whatever you decide to do with both your life and military career!
    Respectfully,

    Hi Athena55,

Thanks for your reply. Sorry if the question was confusing. How hard would it be for me to switch from the reserves to active duty?

    Thanks again.

    Faygg
