Saw a Air Force NTP 2013 and it had great discussion and talk so might as well start a NCP for the navy as well?

Anyone applying or looking into the NCP for 2013? or already in the NCP that would like to give us newbies some advice and tips?

First off good luck with your upcoming selection! Do you care to share some of your credentials, i'm interested in seeing how all of the applicants are shaping up! And to my knowledge you have your sophomore year completed in college which ill be starting my soph. year August 23, i want to get a a early start on my application though. Hows the application process, is it a long process? I'm waiting to get in touch with my recruiter next week.

    As of right now i'm
    Current
    -21 years of age
-Sophomore starting fall semester at Ohio University School of Nursing
-3.506 Cum GPA (plan on ramping that up this school year, more motivated than ever!)
-2 years working experience as a CNA in both hospital setting and nursing home

    Future Goals
-Work on getting letters of recommendation
-Get in contact with a recruiter
-devoting my life to getting a 4.0 cum for sophomore year
-start gathering information on other certifications such as ACLS, PALS and such

I'm 22. I have a 3.8 GPA. I interviewed two weeks ago at a marine base and they told me they were very impressed.. So we'll see!

Also my application process has taken 4.5 months up to this point. Are you finishing nursing pre-reqs this year? They let me apply for this fall because I'm staring nursing classes this fall and I have exactly 4 semesters left in my program. I'm not sure you can get selected if you're any more than 24 months out from graduating with your BSN.

I finished my prereq's freshman termn and will be starting my nursing classes/clinicals this fall semester. Including fall semester i have 6 semesters left in my program which is why i probably will have to apply for the 2014 NCP, i'm alittle late for the 2013. But i wanna get a early start on it because i've heard its a tedious process!

Is the due date for applications the same every year?

I was accepted into the NCP earlier this year and signed my contract around June or July. The best advice I can give you is to contact an officer recruiter as soon as you get your nursing school acceptance letter so that you can begin your package as soon as possible. This program is VERY competitive and you can guarantee people have already started working on, or completed, their packages.

The stats I submitted in my NCP package:
    GPA: 3.98 (Nursing), 3.99 (Overall).
Prior work history: 7 years in the Navy as a Hospital Corpsman
Interview: 2 retired Nurse Corps Captains (O-6)
Letters of recommendation: 5-6. Half of these were from military-affiliated people.
