Medical Waiver

I am currently applying to go active in the Air Force as a nurse. I am curious about anyone's experience with needing a medical waiver. My recruiter told me that I was not PDC (permanently disqualified) which he said is a good sign however, they need a waiver due to the fact that I was in an accident in 2004 and because of my medication allergies (Penicillin, Vicodin and Z-pack).

He said it can take "up to 2 months" for this waiver. I am just looking for any information that anyone may have that may have gone through this process.

I have not had the best experience with this whole process. My recruiter has dropped the ball on a lot of things as well as not followed through on things and also not been honest a lot of the time with me. That being said, I don't feel like I can completely trust him.

Thank you for any feedback.

Ehhh, I think that's recruiters in general. They usually don't know the ins and outs of their job. I would be a squeaky wheel and keep pestering him. His job is to get as many people into the service as possible, so you'd think he'd push forward with the waiver to check another name off the list. Keep emailing and calling, if military service is what you want.

I have pestered him and even had to go above him. Recently he told me he is "on the way out" so I am sure that has a lot to do with it...
