Hi All, I am looking for as much info as you can provide. I'm in the process of receiving a commission with the Army Reserve Nurse Corps. RN, BSN with experience. Am over the required age but they signed a waiver. Am going to do IMA instead of weekend. Have to select three locations I would be interested in and know nothing about the different forts.
I am crossed to most units with specialty being cardiac/pulmonary. Again, looking for info and thoughts on reserves, IMA and the Army in general. Am looking to retire with the Army. This is not a short term situation.
Thanks in advance and look forward to hearing from everyone.

- Sep 21, '05 by CraigB-RNI was IMA in the AF. As far as I'm concerend that's that way to go. I was a proffesional reservist. My full time job was TDY's to hospitals or units that has a need. Kind of like a traveler. You do have to be a self motivator as an IMA, make sure your put in for awards when elligable etc, and it can be easy to put off drill sometimes.
I"m looking at IMA in the Army myself.

How long were you in the reserves. Did you have to stay at the same location every year?I was IMA in the AF. As far as I'm concerend that's that way to go. I was a proffesional reservist.
