Have questions about joining reserves..Register Today!
- by lwood336 Feb 11, '11I am a ASN RN and am now pursuing my BSN online (which I start in March). I really would like to join the reserves in one of the branches. The problem is they all now only accept BSN and not the ASN - is that correct? Also, If I could join any of the branches now as an ASN and be commissioned that would be great to help fund getting my BSN - Is this possible? I cannot do an ROTC program because I have a full time job now. So If I cannot join now should I just take out more loans and hopefully whatever branch I join can pay some of them off? Thanks in advance for any information/suggestions!
- Feb 11, '11 by just_causeNo, at this time you need a BSN to join as a base line requirement.. ADN is essentially being phased out by competition and eventually policy.
You can check locally via your air or army guard to see if its an option.
To join you need a BSN and to be competitive you need some experience. You can get loan repayment but only take out loans you could handle should your commission be delayed, fall through, or loan repayment options change.
