Feeling very military now!!!

Sorry for the post - but I actually got an ID card last week from Bolling AFB on my way to Philly to visit family at the weekend, and just seeing my pic and the "LT" on the card makes me feel like all this is real now! I also bought a set of ABUs (they only had one set that would fit) and boots and rank and all that stuff.

I'm starting to feel very Air Force again, and I've missed it so much. I just wish my dad were here to share in the fun - he'd get a real charge out of all this. He passed away in 2005 and is at Arlington now.

Sorry for the post - I'm just very excited and I know the folks on this forum would understand!!

Congrats carolinapooh! I don't post very much, but I have learned alot from your posts! Good luck with everything, and keep us posted on your adventures.

I'm still waiting to hear back from the board, so I hope to be in the same boat for January COT!

Carolinapooh:
Best of luck to you as your COT date draws near!
I understand about how Proud your Da would be....Mine died in 2002 so he never saw me make the transition from RC to AC. {He was a Navy man as was most of the men in the family}
I do hope your CAC picture was better than my first one. My three boys said, when they saw my picture on the CAC, "Ma, do you actually show that to people?" {meaning the picture, hahahah}

Absolutely great to hear from a person who looks forward to a different way to practice nursing and serve their country.
I remember the first time I wrote RN after my name and I remember getting my first ID card and passport. It is a moment to treasure and sounds like you will.
All the best in your new career, it should be one of the best decisions you will have made. What a GREAT way to use your education and experience. And, truthfully, you'll get a LOT out of the experience.
