CPT Boards HELP

Hello,

I am pretty new to the ARMY and I am up for CPT boards this April. I actually thought I was suppose to go up for the boards next year so I am totally not prepared. I need some help with my OER support form. I have been trying to look up some examples for nurses but there are not really any I can find. I just finished BOLC last sept and have been on the floor since nov. I have nothing else to really add to my support form because I have done nothing extra at all!!!! I have just been trying to get the hang of the floor. My OIC is out right now medically and may not come back at all, the assistant OIC is having to run both jobs and is trying to get ready to PCS next month and is super busy. So any help I can receive here would be greatly appreciated. I really need an example support form to look at that is nursing specific (floor nursing) all the ones I can find are like OIC or commander ones.

Thanks in advance

As a 2LT, I can't help you in any way. Try sending a direct message to Pixie.RN. I believe she just successfully got through her CPT boards.

Awesome. Thanks I will try that.

Have you received an email about this? Your S1 should be in touch. I am also up for promotion and just received official info from the company S1 that includes a PPT and handout on the basics of what you need to do to prep for this. It's been a bit short notice for me as well.

I received an email with basic info. But no details on how to write an oer support form or what info should be included. I mean as nurses is ours just nursing specific? Like how well we assess, plan, implement, prioritize etc. or should there be other stuff too? All the stuff in bolc was army specific and leadership based. I'm finding it hard to put my nursing care onto a support form.

I got your message and I'll send you my support forms. :) Remember, the bulk of your OER will be leadership-based, because that's what all Army officers do -- we are leaders. Nursing is secondary in an OER.

How are you ladies doing with board prep? A couple of things you do NOT want to wait on: getting your DA photo taken and getting your BSN transcripts sent to HRC, if you haven't done these things already.

Edited to add: almost forgot I wrote an article about this stuff:

I pinned on CPT on 1 February. :) Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. Good luck!!

I'm rockin' and rollin'. Transcripts up, DA photo done a few weeks ago. The email they sent out was actually pretty helpful. Seems like it might be fairly smooth sailing from here on out, especially with the boards open for review!

Congrats to you, Pixie! HOOOOOAAAAAH!

Thanks!!! I was so psyched to pin on CPT, especially while deployed! :D I am glad you got your stuff done, it's pretty painless after those couple of things. The prior service people have more things to worry about because they typically have a lot of awards and stuff that have to exactly match the ORB, and I've seen that it can be a real pain to get it all straight. Yay for direct commission! Hahaha.

Roger that! I was looking at all the stuff the prior service folks have to worry about and sighing in relief. I'm just kicked back and waiting until April! Woo hoo, captain's pay!

I know this is an old post but I am going up for CPT's board next spring. Do you happen to have your support forms still? Anything would be helpful.

OERs have totally changed since 2014, so they would probably not be helpful, even if I could lay my hands on them; I have been out for more than a year. :) Have you talked to your OIC? Any junior CPTs in your area that recently got selected?

Just remember, it's all about SMART goals now: S – Specific; M – Measurable; A – Achievable; R – Relevant; T – Time-Bound. You can Google "SMART goals" and get a whole bunch of information.

Good luck!!! :)
