Will we be following the new grading rubric for PT or the older one they have posted on the OTS website? The minimum for the new standards are 15:51 - 16:22 for the 1.5 mile run, 18 pushups and 38 situps!!
I'm okay with the waist size, the running and the pushups...but 38 situps in one minute!? Currently, I can do 20 in a minute. Maybe I just need to go faster.

All that is required is that your elbows touch your thighs, your hips stay on the ground the whole time, and shoulder blades touch the ground in between. Try your sit ups this way: Cross your arms in front of chest and get into a position where you go up the least amount of distance possible that you can go to touch your elbows to your thighs. http://www.vandenberg.af.mil/shared/...-8732M-028.jpgI was just looking over the new physical fitness standards, and it's making me anxious!

Kinda of like this guy in the picture, but extend your elbows straight out so they touch at the earliest possible moment while still keeping your hands on your chest. Try your sit ups that way and see if your score goes up at all. - May 9, '10 by midinphxOh wow! I was doing my situps the way we did in the Army. This is way easier to go faster! (We used to have to have our fingers interlinked behind our head and if they came apart, we were done.)
MT we totaly got this! We're you doing that Insanity workout? - May 9, '10 by annabeapThe new PT standard goes into effect July 1st, 2010... so at COT they should be scoring you the old way. Hopefully they should be giving you your score via the new standards too. That's what they've been doing at my base.

It's looking as though COT class 10-04 will be the last class to test under the old standards.
Six months after you test at COT, you will test again at your base. - May 9, '10 by AF NurQuote from annabeapWhat was the previous standard? But with practice, I will knock it out - May 10, '10 by carolinapoohThe current standards start on page 66 and are arranged by sex and age.

The standards that go into effect in July are not in this pub. You can find the "new" standards here:
