Becoming a Nurse in the Air Force

Hello Everyone, I have a question :lol2: ...I'm currently in the process of enlisting in the Air Force and want to further my education. I currently hold an associates in arts and want to get a bachelors in nursing. My question is how easy is it to get your bachelors through the Air force, i know that the AF college is going to be offering bachelor's programs next year. I'm going to try to put in my "wish list" big cities so that maybe I have more options, can anyone help? maybe give me some advice...I have talked to some military nurses in the army and other services and they told that it is a good choice to have the military pay for it and that is feasable but some other people are telling me to do my bsn before hand. Not sure i really want to start my military training right away rather than waiting 2 years to complete my bsn, after all i'm already getting an age waiver, don't want to loose the opportunity to join by waiting...thanks to all :thankya:

I don't know if it will make you feel any better, but AECP has ALWAYS been difficult to get into, regardless of your choice of major. It's insane. I was turned down when I was enlisted, and I had three years of college with a 3.5 GPA, two firewall 5 EPRs, and a rec from my wing commander. They didn't take me either. I have no idea what they're looking for and it sounds as though it hasn't changed.

I am just about the start the process. Anybody here looking at getting into DC schools?

Yes, my friend will be attending Univ of MD in Baltimore.

Is there anyone here a recent NECP graduate? Im currently on second level and wanting to know where I should go for NTP sites?

Will you be applying for the 2010 May board. If so, I am right there with ya. I have been in the USAF for 6 years.

I'm 26 y/o, single with no kids. I have a B.A. in Management and a BSN in Nursing. I'm considering getting into the Air-force because they have so many opportunities for nursing. Will I have a choice of my station? Will I be in harms way? Can anyone who have been through bootcamp tell what they have experienced? Is there anything I should know in general? I hope I get in but we see in about a month or so. Any advice is most welcome.

Thanks:nurse:
