I just got some info on FY14 accession for 66H and it will be very tight. There will be considerable less then last years number of around 40. Did not find out about other nursing AOC's.

So this may have been covered somewhere on this 90+ page thread, but I was interested in finding out how hard it is to go to school for an advanced degree while being a nurse in the corps. I don't think I am interested in doing any special or subsidized program. I would like to use my GI bill so I don't have to extend my enlistment commitment. Thanks

Depends on how busy you are. I worked a lot and had several collateral duties, and I still managed to use tuition assistance (TA) to fund the majority of my MSN. I have one class and a capstone remaining. You incur a two-year active duty service obligation (ADSO) after your last TA-funded class ends, so you can figure out the timing and use TA as long as you can rather than dipping into your GI bill. I am at the point where my ADSO would go past my contracted time, so I will probably pay my last bit out of pocket since I am undecided about staying in.

Thanks, Lunah. I am kind of bumbed about the change from MSN to Doctorate for nurse practitioners. I don't think I will be able to use TA for schooling.
