Hey everybody, I'm starting a thread here for those applying to the Army Nurse Corps in FY2013. I figure this might be a good place to get to know other future nurse corps officers and a place for the veterans of the ANC to pass... Read More

Just went and looked up the RN ISP from the HRC website here are some details.

Speciality areas eligible for the ISP
    -Perioperative (66E)
    -Critical Care (66H8A)
    -Emergency (66HM5)
    -OB/GYN (66G)
    -Med/Surg (66H)
    -Psych (66C)
    -Community/ public health (66B)
    -Midwife (66G8D)
    -Nurse Practitioner (66P)

Also a obligated specialty RN who is still under their initial ADSO can sign a 1 year ISP for 5 K. This is RN's who have training or accession incentives obligation ie ROTC, ANCP, etc. If they have less then 1 year on your initial ADSO as stated before or are an unobligated or direct commission (without training/accession incentives) RN you can sign a 1 thru 4 year contract. If I remember right student loan repayment falls under accession incentive since I could not sign my contract for 4 years until after I completed 2 years since my student loan repayment had a 3 year ADSO.

    Hopes this helps some.

Thank you Jeck, so how I understand it, though it is not in her contract, she can still take advantage of it later as long as she has 1 more year on her original ADSO? Thanks for all that info.

Has everybody else received their written orders, packing lists, and BOLC info? I haven't yet. I did get a verbal call with my BOLC date and a welcome letter with my future duty post, but nothing else yet. The welcome letter asked me to confirm my email which I did, but I still haven't gotten anything else. I am getting antsey to start buying stuff on the packing list and I need my orders for housing. Do these come via email. Should I call someone? My recruiter or the person who sent me the welcome letter. As usual I feel like a blind woman walking through this as I know not sheer to go so please lead me brothers and sisters! Getting so excited! Only a few days left at my job and just weeks leave before I leave my babies!

From what others have posted who went to BOLC in the last couple of years you should get your orders 2-3 weeks out.

So time is flying by and it seems like I have nothing done. Anyone know the exact date BOLC starts if you dont have to attend pre BOLC? Is it MARCH 16?

How are you guys getting your CAC cards, packing list, etc??

Last question is does anyone on here know how the "E" pay works? I was told by my recruiter that when I get to Ft. Sam I have to go to finance and they will set that portion up so I get my "E" pay. I know it's not much but every little bit helps.

    Thanks in advance guys.

LauRin Isee we can pick our roommates if we are both present together at check in! I think it would be cool if we could room together! Perhaps we could look at our travel plans once it gets closer and arrange it! Let the countdown begin!

brandon, did you see the link chudder posted? U.S. Army Medical Department Center & School Portal -- pretty much all the info you need there.

As far as your "E" pay, the finance folks will work with you during your finance briefing to ensure that you get the appropriate pay. If there are forms you need to have that establish prior service, etc., they will tell you what they are. My roommate had some "E" pay issues, and they got them worked out for her.

I did not have a CAC until Ft. Sam. Until that point, I just carried my orders and my drivers license, that got me into where I needed to go. Our cadre folks just rounded us up early one morning and took us over to the ID card place and got them done. There were a lot of us that didn't have a CAC yet.

How are you supposed to know stuff if you don't ask?? That BOLC website is a lot better than it was a couple of years ago, LOL.

I am excited for you all.
