I definitely don't mind helping some of you get squared away once we are at BOLC. I think BOLC will be fun.
I totally depended on my prior service peeps to get me squared away at BOLC! Very helpful, and you will be much appreciated. BOLC was fun. The days could drag a bit with the whole "death by PowerPoint" thing, but really, it was pretty painless. There will be people who are NOT prepared for daily PT at 0500, or who aren't prepared to get muddy and dirty and smelly at Camp Bullis, but they'll get over it! No choice. LOL

I do not think they offer either now. My wife was able to get the precision course and the loan repayment. Was told allother bonueses were gone unless you have the 8a or ER identifier
Interesting ... that must have been a recent change because the last thing I saw was that 66Hs were eligible for the ISP. I haven't been paying close attention, though, since I already got my ISP.

This was the lastest I saw: https://hr.mods.army.mil/SpecialPay/...s 20100628.pdf

I am gonna have to ask her to look into it. Basically I think alot of those things were around, but just before the board they held back a bunch of cv's because the bonuses were pulled for 66h and alot of other things were yanked. sucks.

Lunah, to be clear can you explain exactly what the ISP is, and did you have that in your contract first?

From what I understand the ISP, is the same as the course guarantee. And you do get $80k still when you pass the course and your exam. The only courses eligible for the $80k are CC/ICU, OR, OB, or psych. They kept this bonus intact to help retain the nurses. I have the course guarantee in my contract. Hope this helps

Nursespouse, my recruiter told me the RNISP is the same as the course guarantee. I'm sending him an email tomorrow and will double check about the ISP/course guarantee. I'll let you know what I hear. FYI...i know y'all are moving from FL to OK. I feel your pain as I am moving from Colorado (hiking, snowboarding, fishing, rafting, hunting, snowmobiling) to Georgia. No Rocky Mountains in GA Looking forward to different adventures in a new part of the country!

Nor the RN ISP is not the same as a course guarantee. The ISP is a bonus for having your certification in your speciality area and signing a commentment for 1-4 years. The bonus runs from 5K/year for a 1 year commentment to 20K/yr for a 4 year commentment. There are rules about the RN ISP when you are in your 1st ADSO (active duty service obligation) and can not recall off the top of my head. The course guarantee is just that, it is a guarantee that you will go to one of the courses which give you a speciality. Once you complete your course you will have a ADSO of 1 year. This can be served concurent with other ADSO 's. I think the 80K LuaRiN is talking about is the total bonus. The bonus is paid out yearly not one lump payment. For most certification exam's you have to work in the area for 2 years and so many hours. Your time for the 2 year period starts on the 1st day of the course.

From what I understand there are changes coming on the ISP, just dont when or what yet. They AMEDD was talking about it last year, but still no changes last I heard.
