Well my wife is in San Antonio. She got there one day early just to be safe. it was 1050 miles for her to drive. she left monday afternoon and just arrived in San Antonio 1:47 am wednesday. I hope you all get there safely and have a great time at your BOLC. Good luck to you all. And thank you for your service.

Hi all, well I just spoke with the volunteer coordinator at Fort Sill and she helped me with quite a few little links. I am not sure if this one was already provided in this thread, but this seems like a huge help. Plan My Move - Welcome
It is the Plan My Move feature at army one source. It creates a calendar and all kinds of things to get you ready to move and when you should be doing things. Just a tip for you guys and gals, and I hope it helps.

Hi just wondering if you had issues doing that. I was also on the AD OML and now I want to do reserves. However my recruiter is having problem with getting a release of my application to be sent in for the reserves.

You need to write a letter requesting to be removed from AD OML inorder to apply for a RC commission. If your rec can't do it talk his/her boss to get it done. RC ANC board deadline is 3/11. Good luck

Make sure you keep some funds available for travel to bolc, and for uniforms. You can get all uniforms for about 1000$ though. Travel expenses are a toss up.

I'm prior service Air Force and Army and currently on my third year of a 5 year ADSO as an AN (1LT). I'm telling you now turn around and go back, Army nursing sucks!!! It's a parallel universe compared to civilian nursing! I was where you were at , except I was in the ANCP program, did BOLC, I mean drunkfest, at Sam Houston. Yep go directly passed GO and Do not collect 200. It's a joke! Its all old school nursing from the 80's, everything from equipment to team nursing, and oh lets not forget the furlough taking affect 16 Jun!! Yep be prepared to work long hours and yea your days off are not your days off!! You have to come in to the hospital and do APEQS training as well as all your other appointments plus mandatoary volunteering into the community and mandatory fun time. Yep welcome to Army nursing suckaaa!!!

I do not get it. If you thought Army nursing was anything like civilian nursing, you did not do your research. The complaints I see you just rendered are all service complaints. Not sure about you, but before I signed up I knew i was giving up a few things. To say the least I knew i would not be setting my own work schedule. You seem to hate your career from the start. You were not satisfied with the training at BOLC, you do not agree with your schedule, you even complain about helping the community. Is that not the reason you joined? To help the community? If you joined to help only yourself than you joined for the wrong reasons. I really do not see the Army as the problem with you, all I see is a person that did not do enough research before making a big choice, and now hates the world for it. Good luck with your career honestly.
