I started the application/hiring process as a Civilian RN at Tripler Army Medical Center. I cant tell you much about being in the military except that I am military spouse. So I am not sure how it cuz I have not started on the floor yet. I dont know when I will start since the hiring process takes 1 to 2 months.
Are for as places to live, I can help since I am born and raised on Oahu. You may have base housing near Tripler in the Moanalua or Salt Lake. If you choose to live off base, housing is expensive, not very pet friendly and rent/utlities/gas for driving is not cheap! If you need to live farther from the hospital, Aiea is a beautiful place to live in but very very expensive. It is close to a shopping mall with lots of places to go eat and hang out. No beach, but there is hiking and parks.
