    Elumine,

I was select for OML as well. I was told by my recruiter that "OML" is not considered non select. I was informed they (recruiter) are not informed of what number a person is on the list. However, we can be selected for active duty now or NLT 30 September 2011. My understanding and the impression that I received from my recruiter is that I don't have to resubmit a packet for next year. You won't either. I will continue to keep you posted once I receive information. Can you do the same for me? Stay encouraged, I am, we will be active duty nurses before the FY2012. I have faith and so do you!
There is possible that we can go active duty, but for what I understood, only small chance. Also, I know that OML does not need to re-submit the packet, but needs to compete again with the rest of the applicants for the next board..Do you have less than a year experience? My recruiter told me (I just said what he told me) that the board did not take any applicants with less than a year of experience..That's the reason I am OML due to not enough experience..

I will keep you inform promise! I need to PM you sometimes because I need to tell you something, but not tonight because I am just dead tired from work...I am encourage! I have lots of time to wait and gain more experience from ICU..Goodnight!!

I am still waiting for the final word. My recruiter says I am selected but doesnt know if I am OML or selected selected. She says my status shows as selected pending something, I think it was investigation of background. I had a situation that needed explaining from 1996 that was thrown outa court. They did the same investigation last year when I was commisioned for RC so the recruiter thinks its no big deal again.

Royally sucks to wait when everyone else already knows their results. I gotta be the last one in the country waiting for results! I thought they woulda had a list of who was selected, OML, or nonselect for sure by now?

Yep, we'll get the rank issue sorted soon ... I suspect I'll be a 2LT.
I was told one of my pending issues was a waiver for my rank, I was boarded as a 1st LT so my recruiter said I should maintain it. We'll see, but I won't argue the point, in is in.

For all of the ladies who have been on the OML list I just want to tell you to stay encouraged. If you have been on this board for a while you have seen my name for over 2 years going through my commissioning process. I started off Navy packet got approved then changed over to Army reserve but decided to go Army active. I have now commissioned as O-2 1LT (Army active).
I just want to tell you to
    1. Stay encouraged
    2. Just because you are put on a list does not mean you won't be commissioned soon. I was put on a list in September then called up in October to commission.
    3. Stay on your recruiter.
    4. Keep working out just like others have said you wait, wait, wait until you get commissioned then after they do time roles very fast.

See you ANC nurses to be on the otherside. I will stationed at Fort Polk in May and the AMEDD community is a small community so we will bump across each other in some form or fashion!!!

Thank you Sassy sailor for that information..I received a letter from the Department of Army saying "to congratulate you on your selection as an alternate for appointment as a commissioned officer ect..ect..
Positions for alternates become availabe through the declination of another applicant currently selected or as new positions are identified"...

I thought it can only obtain when current selected applicants decline the commission..I never thought that I may be commision before next board as soon as new positions becomes available...Thank you for encourage Sassysailor..Like I said before, I am not discouraged.. I know I will be in the Army I just don't know when...I have good job in the CVICU to keep me busy while waiting..Thanks again!!

Finally found out my status today, got the letter that I am OML, dated Dec. 2. A bit dissapointed the recruiter wasnt able to figure that out cause the waiting sucked, especially when everyone else knew their results...

Congrats to those of you selected. You all must of been a bunch of animals! I felt like a good GPA, 2LT in RC with good APFT scores, and 12 mos. exp med/surg plus 5 months CVICU would of been enough. If I try again next year Ill defentely need to step up the game with my packet and another year exp. will prolly help!
