Air Force Nursing

  1. hi- i'm currently an icu rn - 1 yr experience in icu and 1 year med/surg prior to that. i love working with trauma patients, would like to pursue flight nursing at some point and have always had this pull inside of me to do something with the military so i decided the air force was the route to take. i told the recruiter that i would like to be commissioned to europe (preferably landstuhl) as well as do humanitarian work. any one here have any tips or insight into air force nursing? do they really try to accommodate your location choices? do you feel like you received training/exposure that you would not in the civilian world? any one been to landstuhl? how easy is it to get into specialty areas such as flight nursing? hows the transition from civilian life to the military? any feed back would be appreciated! thanks
