Air Force July NTP Alternates

Hey guys! Thought I'd start this after seeing a request :)

My name is Hope..graduate in December with my BSN. Applied OB... Alternate #5

Specializes in Emergency Department.

Or, do u think they'd say I've only got 3 months, so roll over to NTP? I dunno. If it says there's no slots to roll and NTP applicant into FQ if they got 6mo experience, and I'd have to wait for the next FQ alternate spot...wonder how long that'll be...

Hey there alternates!

I know it has been a looooong time since anyone has commented on here, but I wanted to bring up the news about there not being a board this year for NTP and they are going to select from the alternates list! Has anyone else heard this from their recruiters?

I'm currently #9 and I hope to hear news soon that this is actually real and I have been selected.

Hey! I have definitely heard the same thing from my recruiter! I just recently had to re-submit my resume to my recruiter because she said the selecting officials want to be sure that people are still qualified to go to NTP and haven't worked over 6 months since last year, which makes sense! I am just waiting to hear back now! I am so freaking anxious!

HBaum,

I think it might be best if you contact your recruiter... You're in a different situation than those of us with 0 experience. From what it sounds like is that you might have to wait a bit longer if you get that full 6mo of experience, as the FQ spots are already full. Let us know what you find out.

tngonzales87,

I am so freaking anxious too! I resubmitted my updated resume a while ago, and my renewed license.... I just hate all of this waiting. Heck, we've been waiting for almost a year! Haha. I am tempted to call my recruiter today cuz she said we might hear this week... But I have a feeling we might have to wait another week, and maybe another. Augh!

I still might call though because I want to ask her if I need to renew my ACLS. It expires at the end of June.

Just got off the phone with the recruiter... She said they have a tentative number to take 30 nurses for NTP. She hopes to hear back before August 16th (when the board meets), and I hope so too!

She said they are still taking new NTP applicants, but most likely they will end up as alternates, and maybe a few will get in if some of the current alternates (us) decide to not to accept.

Does anyone see us waiting until August?

There was a quote I found that fit perfectly for all of us...thought I'd share!

Sometimes, no matter how much we want something to happen, all we can do is wait. And usually waiting is the hardest part.

Stick together everyone, and don't give up! We'll get there!

Welp, bad news, and news I thought would happen... they aren't rolling the alternates into NTP positions. We have to reapply. Good luck to everyone!

Good luck to everyone who is applying this year!
