0Hi everyone! I've been talking to a recruiter about flight nursing but I had a couple questions for the Reserve Flight Nurses out there.
1. I will be eligible to join when I have 6 months of experience in the civilian world (I graduated in May and I'll have 6 months experience at my hospital in Critical Care in Jan/Feb). I am a little scared to jump right into Flight Nursing this early in the game. I don't want to set myself up for failure. I have always dreamed of being a flight nurse, but am I jumping the gun by doing it this early with such little experience?
2. I have a full-time civilian job that I'd like to keep, but I've been reading blogs on allnurses.com and it sounds like being a flight nurse, I'd be dedicating MUCH more time than just 1 weekend a month/15 days a year. Is it possible to have a full-time job while being a flight nurse? How do your employers feel about you being gone so much?
