ADN to MSN Navy Nurse Corp - Examination Required??

Hello,

I am an ADN nurse who will graduate with an MSN specializing in education 3/2014. I recently submitted my CV to the recruiter and received some disturbing information. I was told I would have to take an exam (NCLEX?) to receive my MSN licensure since I do not hold a BSN. This doesn't sound right to me. Can someone clarify? I have a couple of phone calls out to the board of nursing and my college. Still waiting to hear back from them. I would greatly appreciate any information on this process!

Specializes in EMT, ER, Homehealth, OR.

I don't believe the recruiter knows what they are talking about. I have never heard of someone having to retake a NCLEX after getting a higher degree since you are already licensed. The Navy will not count any of your ADN time and that is properly where the recruiter is coming from. Remember most recruiters do not have a medical back ground and have no idea about RN licenses other they you have to take a NCLEX.

When I was looking into coming back on active duty while I was completing my ADN to BSN the recruiter said the same to me until he looked into it and realized the fact that there is no difference in your license.
