You might also consider Air Force Nursing/Air Force Reserve Nursing. As for deployment, it is an honor to serve because you are taking care of those that put their lives on the line for the rest of us. What we do is minuscule when you put it all into perspective.

Yes go for it. It is so funny to me I retired at age 40 after 22 years in the military. Joining was the best thing I ever did in my life. They paid for my nursing, diploma,degree and masters. Go for it.

I was deployed to Kosovo when I was 42. I was away from home for 15 months and had 2 periods of leave. Deployments are not bad, they are what you make them. Nurses generally deploy for 6 months at at time in the Army. Can be up to 12 months depending on the unit but most nurses only deploy for 6 months. In the reserves it varies on if it is stateside or overseas and will be between 6-12 months.
