It sure seems like it takes a long time after people's kits are submitted to hear back. Anyone else know how long after your kit is submitted until you hear if you are professionally recommended? I am an ER nurse transitioning back to active duty. I have 10 years in the Air Force, however, I have decide that the Navy has better health care! I was hoping to go to ODS earlier this year, not looking forward to Newport in the winter. I have been very intolerant of the cold ever since Iraq. lol

You can either do the Masters team (for adults), maybe get an assistant coach to help you, or even one of the older kids to help you. The BIGGEST piece of advice I can give is don't wait until the last minute, learn to LOVE and relax in the water, and get someone with experience (even if it costs a bit more...it's a LIFELONG skill)! Good luck!

Thanks for this! There's no USA Swimming clubs out here in Nevada but I found a recreation center nearby and signed up for their swimming lessons! I'm nervous, but excited...hopefully this will build my confidence to relax in the water!
