Awesome news!! My daughter is working in the dietary dept of the LTC where I work and told me yesterday that these old folks are "so cool" and that she wants to be a nurse!! She is going to be a sophomore in high school and I am sooooo proud!! She is gonna be awesome!!! (I think old folks are "cool" too)

I used to bring my son to work with me sometimes a few years back. I work on a long LTC geri-psych unit and he would dole out the snacks in the evening. He really enjoyed interacting with the residents, but no nursing in his future endevors. I was proud of him just the same.

LTC is what motivated me to become a nurse, When I was young, I used to go to work with my mom, she's a C.N.A., I did some volunteer work, then when I was in high school, my mom helped me to get a job in the nursing home that she was working in, after school & on weekends, so that is where my journey in nursing began.
