What kind of LTC resident will you be?

by squeakykitty Premium Member

When I have to go to a nursing home, I don't think I'll be a pleasantly confused LOL. I would be the one who tries to sneak cats into the facility.

And--since the information about how to turn off a door alarm is now lodged in a part of my brain that dementia would take time to erase, I'll be the facilities escape artist.

How about it---what kind of LTC resident will you be in the future?

LMAO... I'll probably be the one screaming at the staff to wash their hands. My yelling will be
peppered with a variety of expletives, that I'm screaming at the top of my COPD affected lungs..

I will be the one that says the hell w/ the special diet... bring me pizza and chocolate or I ain't eatin. I will be the one that punches someone who thinks I outta get OOB at 6am (to do what?!? - eat the same ole eggs ya served me yesterday!!) I should just write my own careplan for non-compliance now. Maybe at least the future MDS coordinator would love me

I'll be the one, walking around in nothing but my slippers, raising heck with the staff.

I would be screaming for pizza and chocolate too. And I would really be screaming my head off for a decent cup of coffee that's strong enough, and not that weak diluted colored water they served.

I had a friend in my CNA class say that if she had to live at the nursing home, she'd sneak alcohol in. I can think of a few ways to sneak it in and hide it.

We allow alcohol where I work. As long as the family and MD okay's it. Old drunks are the best drunks They've had more practice.

I will watch whatever I want to on TV, no Animal Planet for me.
Of course I will never get out of bed before noon. I will eat whatever I deem healthy. Healthy foods will include sugar, pizza, and copious amounts of lime chips.
I may on occasion steal a wheelchair so I can play bumper cars.
I will rebel against clothing and declare the home a nudist colony.

I'll be the demented biter that everyone loves. I'll also be the night owl that spends the night folding laundry and sleeps all day. Damn years of nightshift.
