Maybe at least the future MDS coordinator would love me
Yup.........that'll be me as well. And if someone comes at me with a 'silver bullet' at 0500, they're going to find themselves on the business end of my foot.

I'm only half-kidding, too---having worked in long-term care for much of my career, I've seen so many indignities forced on the frail elderly that I'll probably be the biggest PITA in the facility!

Piggy Bank Re: What kind of LTC resident will you be?
I'll be the one who decides he needs to get up out of bed immediately wobbly legs and all and leaves a trail of loose feces plus some down the sides of his legs and dribbling over socks for extra measure. "I was a nurse once too, believe it or not!" LTCRN:"In your dreams hun, in your dreams!";D

I'll be the one who has DNR tattooed to his chest complaining of chest pain and nitrates just don't work, please give me the Dilauded always, works like a charm! ;D'

I'll be the one who in the future will finish his mundane meal entirely and you can quote me as stating, "Eat for strength not for pleasure!"
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

*Love it* I always told my family that I am going to get a big stop sign tattooed on my chest that says DNR only. I'm figuring that I'm going to be the non-compliant to everything, wanting to stay up at night, wanting things at all the wrong times, "I use to be a nurse deary-What happened to resident's rights?!-Don't you think I'm going to be taking a cold shower---I wanna whirpool. Where's the good food?!" -- *And* Everything other trait about escaping or getting loose from lap buddies and getting to the bathroom without assistance when your suppose to have it type of resident. The LTC that might get me someday will be afraid and I won't know anything about it!

And who ever wakes me when I don't have to go to work every day is going hear every 4 letter word and I'll make up a few too. I'll have breakfast at 11am thank you.
And only the pills I think I need please.

It will be pay back time for me....I want to go to the lock down unit and sign me up for all the psycho actives you have . I will spend my nights roaming and peeking under the covers of all the men then when you re-direct me ill paint you a pretty picture on the wall....I will be sexual aggressive , physical aggressive and have a potty sailor mouth...I figure that by them I will have at least 50 years of nursing under my belt and the majority spent in Geri. So it will be my turn...heheheheh

Lol, I'm sure I'll do that too. By the way, the knick-name of one of my cats is "Squeaky Kitty".

I was just thinking that about myself, too. I'd be sneaking booze in, telling the nurse " to h$%& with my blood sugar " and eating chocolate and pizza. I'd also be the one with a tattoo on her chest that said...

NO CPR
Put that 300 joules on me and I'll haunt you

I think I'd be the one telling other residents to "shut up", walking around all hours of the night telling everyone how long I worked 3rd shift. I'd be the one getting into the med cart or into the kitchen, or walking down the road to the nearest store or restaurant.

I better be perfectly demented by the time "they" commit me.
give me a doll that coos and cries
I'm the nutty lady who's content to fuss over my "baby" all day long.
