What do you wish you had known?

I have been an OB nurse for 11 years but am itching for a change.
I have an interview/tour set up tomorrow for a full time day shift position at a non-profit, 71 bed assisted living facility.

My question is: What do you wish you had known (or asked) when you were starting your LTC/ALF jobs?
I don't know if I'll ask appropriate questions since this isn't my area of expertise.
Thank you in advance!!

1. Do you staff strictly to census or by acuity?
2. What is your nurse/patient ratio
3. CNA/patient ratio
4. How many quality of care tags did you receive during your past survey
5. Are you Joint Commission accredited
6. Is there an RN on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

I would always ask if there is mandatory overtime, what the staffing is like. When I worked LTC, and there were call off's/ no shows, the nurse had to stay no matter what the babysitter, other plans, etc were.

It only takes a few times before you realize it is time to find something else.
