Struggling with anxiety over previous job

Hi .I am so sorry for your troubles and your pain.I am a new nurse so on that score I cant advise.However from the stand point of one human to another.I think you might need a complete break from everything.I will pray for you.Please hang in there and good luck.

Pick up the phone and call the board of nursing and report the LPN signing her name as a RN.

Call whoever certifies NH /LTC (hospitals have Joint Commission, do they do LTC, too?), and report that the LPN is signing her name as an RN. I'm an LPN, and I am FURIOUS that someone who can't pass her boards is signing RN. That crap's got to stop. They can dance around why you left all they want. If the governing body sees one record where an LPN signed as an RN (much less a repeating pattern of it), they can't explain that one away. You don't have to ID yourself, you can just be a "concerned coworker" and couch it in terms that you think the LPN doesn't understand the gravity of what she's doing. Nothing about you, nothing about their relationship, just focus on the one thing they can't explain away -- ink on paper.

Dear Fellow Nurse...I have been in and out of LTC facilities for the last 10 years. I believe the longest I have stayed in any of them was 3 years , the majority I stayed 6 months or less. I believe the nurses who are in management in LTC are burnt out..seems "nasty" is added after RN on their credentials. I suggest you seek another avenue in nursing or you will end up leaving your profession. I am struggling at this time because I moved into home health...I am making less but enjoying more. I like the autonomy and the flexibility. I get to know my patients...am able to careplan at a level that includes the medical needs, the psychological and spiritual needs of my patients. I am able to witness progress and renewed health in my patients as well as include loved ones in the care process ( so vital when illness strikes a loved one). Please don't leave your profession and put your chin up because you did nothing to deserve what you suffered. I am a 23 year veteran of nursing, an RN who puts my patients first and foremost. You said many of the same things I have said to myself over the years..the anxiety is because you are a true healer and you care deeply. I agree. Report the facility to whatever governing body that oversees it's certification. That LPN isn't an RN therefore she shouldn't even be signing orders as an RN let alone a GN.

Isn't it permissible to sign GN prior to passing boards? (For graduate nurse)

It is, but an RN MUST co-sign.

only until you take the boards, if you take and fail, you are no longer entitled to use GN
