Hello..

Back in Dec I quit my psw/cna position that I had at the same nursing home of eight years. The level of resident on resident, resident on staff, was not being corrected and I could no longer handle it. My stress levels were sky high.

Since then I have applied to several area nursing homes. I ended up getting an interview at a ''non profit'' nursing home, one that I did my clinicals at. It was a very intensive intrview, that I felt very positive about when it was over, however, today I got the dreaded call that ''unfortunately'' I didn't get one of the positions. They didn't even call my references, which were were very good ones.

I cannot understand how I did not get one of the ''many openings'. I emailed the lady that interviewed me and she emailed me back and I am to call her next Tues at 10 a, to talk about it..I am too afraid to call..I will feel like an even bigger loser, after she tells me how I messed up.

This was the dream place for me to work, I can't stop crying..I am crushed

Thank you to anyone who may rerspond to me..I feel like a fish out of water at the moment, in the same sense, I have no regrets about quitting my prior job..as it was literally killing me

I am, but they do not hire psw's in hospitals

I would call and see what they say. Might be something small that you need to improve on. I always take criticism positivity. Can only help you in the long run. We are blinded to our faults sometimes

I have been contacted by a reputable home health agency for an interview. I go on Monday! I remember not really caring for this field, back when I was in school. I wanted to go to a nursing home, well that didn't turn out well, so I am thinking that home health is where I am most likely to make a difference in someone's life. I am very excited about this new opportunity
