Need info on safe transfers of elderly --links

HI! I need to provide an in-service on safely providing care, without causing injury (such as skin tears), to elderly clients. Does anyone know of any links where I can find this information? Thanks

Hi. We do these kinds of inservices all the time. Do you have any vendors who provide inservice material? Do you use lifts? Ask the sales rep for help. They probably all have videos you could borrow.
The most important things to remember: use a gait belt --that way you are hanging on to the belt not the person's fragile skin...and take your time. More horrendous skin tears are caused by care givers in a hurry than by other accidents.

Cape Cod,

Thanks for the idea! I'm not really the education Coordinator so preparing in-services is all new to me!!
