Large Facilities VS. Small

I accepted a position at a large facility 200 plus beds. I come from a very small facility..under 40 beds. I am very nervous about going to such a large place and I can't pinpoint what is freaking me out about it. Actually, I think everything is freaking me out. One thing I am actually looking forward too...(well I hope anyway) Is sort of just doing my job and going home. At a small facility there is so much of everyone knowing everyones business. I don't want to come off snobby or unfriendly, but just kind of friendly and professional if that makes sense?
Any good things about a large facility? It's not a coperation, it's family owned...if that helps

I think a 200 bed hospital is still fairly small considering there are 600+ bed hospital. I work at a facility that is roughly around 210 beds. Trust me, everyone is still in everyone else's business. Granted I never worked in a 40 bed hospital but word of mouth spreads quickly. At first I just did my work and kept quiet. I think that is the best thing to do until you get a better idea of who you can trust and who you cannot.

My LTC is 180 beds, 3 floors...b/c it is sectioned off, it doesn't feel like it. I too came from a smaller facility, it was roughly 50 beds at the time. I don't feel any different.

I think it is just going to be different..I do not have a supervisor where I am now. It is just me. So, if I need to send someone out do I have to run it by the Sup first?
