I'm about to take the plunge again

by LPN,RNNow Premium Member

After completing my RN, having a baby and unsuccesfully trying to land a job in a NICU, I'm going back to LTC. I worked LTC for several years before kids. I will be working nights, with a weekend option. Meaning I work 24 get paid for 36 but no other benefits. I go for orientation tomorrow.

Enjoy!

I currently work in Geri-Psych and love the psych. We do get some younger patients in the 30-50 range.

Good luck in LTC. However, if NICU is where you want to be, maybe try a peds floor or L&D first and then transfer?

at least you know more or less what you are getting into . if hubby has health benefits on his job that would be a bonus
i have to agree with above post that getting yhour foot in the door at a hospital might get your foot in the door for your preferred field

however give this ltc a chance, maybe you will find it what you really want
sometimes opportunity comes disquized
