Hip Replacement


How would you address the emotional issues regarding sexual intercourse after hip replacement??? I allready know how to address the physical....

What an excellant question, I'm hoping someone has a better answer than me but her goes anyway:

This is such an individualized situation, that no one answer can satisfy everyone!! Some assessment is in order and only based on the specifics, can you create an appropriate careplan.
As with all clients we must treat the couple with respect and respect their need for privacy, and be nonjudgemental and open-minded.
You can stress that the person is more that a sum of her or his parts and with the prosthesis, he/she is completely as whole as before. But tread lightly and be very sensitive LOL
