Help-Nursing home standards in PA

by R2MD

I am wondering if anyone knows what the nursing staff to patient ratio has to be in a nursing home facility on 2nd shift. The other day the 1st shift nurse left the floor and nobody was their to releive her. patients had to wait on their medications for the supervisor to come and give them. Thanks

sounds like the first nurse left without a relief. Isn't that patient abandoment? She can loose her lic. if she was reported!

I work in a nursing home on 2nd shift & I have 24 residents on my unit, & we usually have 3 CNAs (sometimes we get lucky & get 4!)
