I work in a LTC facility but I feel this could apply to nurses in all lines of work. As RN's and LPN's we often find ourselves responsible for the CNA's or Patient Technicians who work under us. I would like to hear from nurses, CNA's, etc. from different countries. I would like to know the best way to approach someone from a different country in order to give feedback, praise, or educate or even just ways to become good friends and colleagues. The countries I am most interested in would be Africa (Ethiopia, Etria <sp> and other parts of the country), Phillipines, Vietnam, Asian in general. I believe approach is everything. I find plenty of information about patients and cultural diversity, but have yet to find information about employees who have come to the US (thank god they have come!), and their feelings about work, communication, work education and work ethics. I believe the more knowledgeable we are about different cultures the better we can all work together. The reverse is true for people from other cultures who may want to know how we who have been born here, think and work and live. Any replies would be very welcome.
