just curious...how many of your companies throw a Christmas party for the staff? Ours was lovely...disappointing that more people didn't go but it was a relaxing night and fun to see my co-workers in real clothes.

Mine always did as well....it was fun to relax. I have had 2 places where the MD threw a big shin dig and we all dressed up ate good food and drank for free. we gave gag gifts and had a lot of fun!

Frankly I think it's rude to host a party when it's not possible for all employees to come because they are working in the building! I personally would much rather appreciate a 5 dollar gift card than a party I can't make because I'm on the schedule to work!!
Eta - unless you mean a party for the 9-5 management.

My facility is having the party at the facility this year so that everyone can enjoy it. Employees only this time. 4-7pm shift change is at 6 so if you are working either shift you don't get left out.
We had Chinese food delivered to the facility so the people working could have a treat as well.

Mine has a big party every year at a banquet hall in the area.Great music and dinner. Everyone goes, from the janitors and housekeepers to the CEO.
