Bait and Switch Job Advertisment

I recently attended an open hourse at a local facility. I have heard good things about this small nursing facility and wanted to check things out. I was not impressed with the manner I was treated. For an open house it seemed no one was prepared to greet attendees, no information was available regarding the facility, the openings, nor the expected hire date or the benefits of the facility. Some old coffee was in a container, a platter of over-ripe fruit, and some stale cookies were presented on a table with a cloth that was less than clean. Needless to say, I did pick up some of the information available, new rules concerning restraint use that are going to be statewide, and left after speaking to one of the "nurses". I feel like there was some sort of bait and switch going on. It seems that this facility did not have openings, but another facility several miles away has many openings. No wonder, the facility is very isolated, bad roads in winter and not too great in summer. I feel this was a bait and switch program, does this happen often? Anybody else have any feelings or comments on this situation?

I would understand it being a bait and switch if the presentation had been perfect with great food, promises of nirvana and nurses that said they LOVED their job only to find upon entering the facility the conditions you described.

I can't see a bait and swtich if the presentation at the open house was that bad.
