ANCC Certification in Gerontological Nursing

Does anyone out there have ANCC certification in gerontological nursing? Was the exam challenging or pretty straightforward? And do you think it has helped you in your nursing practice?

I'm thinking about this because I won't be able to start graduate studies until January and I do have sufficient hours of clinical practice to qualify to sit for the exam.

I took the test and passed years ago. I thought it was easy but I've been doing this for years and years. It didn't help me in my career. Honestly after signing RNC for a while I got over it. Good luck if you decide to take the test.

Hi Tia,

I received my certification in gerontological nursing several years ago. The test is challenging but doable. The certification does look good on a resume, but honestly has not hampered or helped me in a job search or any other area, most just wanted to know why I used the intial after my RN title. Maybe someone else has had a different experience but that was my finding.
