We tried several different brands and went with Tena. Big difference in terms of irritation and skin breakdown.
Regardless of what brand you use if the application technique is not respected you will end up with blisters along the diaper lines. This is usually always the cause of blisters in these areas.
Have the company rep come in and do an in-house teaching session on the correct application technique.

Default tranquility
It is not cheap but it neutralizes the urine PH which helps decrease skin breakdown, has super absorbant cornstarched based polymers and one adult diaper can hold a 2 Liter bottle of fluid. It also neutralizes the ammonia smell.

I had good results from TENA as well. I found that blisters on the hips was usually from the tape/ adhesive coming in contact with the skin and inproper application of the brief too.

Default blisters from attends
We have always had problems with blisters in our facility from briefs. Our DON recently changed to the "attends" brand, and I am seeing a huge increase in blisters. I do believe alot of it is from not applying the brief properly, but what brand is everyone else using that seems to be helping? Tracy

It is not the briefs (which is what you should call adult incontinence products).
It is how the brief is applied. If the brief is the wrong size and put on incorrectly it will blister. Have the sales rep in-service the staff in the correct way to put them on and that should solve to problem. fFrther the briefs do not take the place of good old soap and water in keeping the skin free of breakdown. Proper application and good skin care should solve the problem.

Oh definately, I would never usually refer to them as diapers, usually briefs or products. I just put diapers in the title for the sake of clarity.

We have found Tena to be the best.

Yes I have to agree Tena come at the top of my list too.
I have seen no side effects from using them - provided they are used properly and the clients are turned when bed ridden.

I've used Attends, Depends, Walmart store brand, Shopper's Drug Mart store brand, Goodnights, Tranquillity and Tena. I like Tranquillity best, but have to use whatever Alberta Aids to Daily Living will pay for, which is the Tena product... with a co-pay. My son doesn't have much of a problem with skin breakdown since he only wears them to bed, although there are times when the brief just isn't up to the job at hand. We have a soaker on top of the sheet, two blue pads under the sheet and two mroe under the mattress pad, just in case.

In my job, we use a Curity product that isn't terribly absorbent, and we only stock the small and large sizes, so they never quite fit right. Almost not worth bothering with!
