Up until this semester, GPC required the NET and on their website it still has the old info for admission and it says you must take the entrance exam BEFORE applying to their nursing school so the score can be factored in. The only reason I didn't take the NET before it went away was because when I called the nursing school they told me not to take it until after I was done with A&P (that I am doing now). I was told by other students this semester that is not the case and they took the NET on their own and did fine without the A&P background, so that is a bit of a disappointment. Anyway, now there is another section on the website that now says the TEAS is only available by invite only AFTER you have applied for the nursing school. It also says that the deadline is May 15th, but I am not even sure if my A & P grades will be posted then considering the semester ends just a few days before. So it sounds like I submit an incomplete application, then maybe I get invited to test at some point after the deadline? I am so confused.
When I look at NGCSU, it looks like you can register to take the TEAS as long as you are a current student (regardless of whether you are in the nursing program) and then when I googled the TEAS, it looks like I can register myself through ATI Testing without an invite and take it at Mercer. Can you send the grades everywhere when you do that? If I just sign up on my own for the TEAS, can I use those scores on my GPC application or will they not accept them because they didn't ask me to sit for the exam? Please help!
Thank you so much!Last edit by sirI on Sep 16, '10

My guess would be that GPC doesn't want to be inundated with applicants taking the TEAS at their school and that is why they are requiring the student to be "invited" to take the test there. I would suggest calling the nursing department at GPC and asking if you can take the TEAS at another location and have the results sent to GPC as part of your application. I would also ask them about your spring grades not being reported until after the deadline and they should be able to tell you how to send your spring grades to them. Good luck to you, I hope it all works out.

Take Gwinnett, they make you take their exam only if you qualify for their program. If you take the exam somewhere else, they will not accept it. So by reading GPC's website, it looks like they are changing how they do things.
