What Should I Do?

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

Hi everyone. I am completing a CNA class this week and am planning on taking a PCT course beginning 3/15/2010. I also plan on attending Chattahoochee Tech starting 3/31/2010 in hopes of finishing all my prereqs before the September deadline for their ADN program.

I'm originally from Florida and am wondering if there are any other schools/programs that I should be considering. I would like to be in a program no later than Jan 2011. In addition, where are some good schools that I can transition into a Bachelors program? Are there any schools in GA that offer a CRNA masters program?

Oh yea, are there any places hiring any CNAs with only personal experience? I helped take care of my quadriplegic uncle for about 14 years now. I have a 9 year background in restaurant management though.

Thanks in advance.

You can go directly for the BSN at Kennesaw State or Georgia State...you'll just need to take Chemistry to apply. At Kennesaw, I know that you only need some of the prereqs completed before actually applying to the program. The ADN program at Chatt Tech has you sitting out summer quarters, therefore, pursuing the BSN program at Kennesaw actually may take you less or equal time. If you already know that you'll want to pursue a master's in the future, you'd be much better off to get the BSN now. If you do want to go the ADN route, you can also look at Georgia Perimeter, Gwinnett Tech, and Georgia Highlands.

There is a CRNA school at Medical college of Georgia in Augusta I believe. If you want a job fast you should look into LTC. They seem to always be hiring CNA's. For ADN look at Georgia Perimeter, North Georgia and Gwinnett Tech. Good luck!
